Lunch fail
Mar. 30th, 2010 10:11 pmAbout three weeks ago, flyers went up around where I work advertising two new lunch businesses in the building, one of which is now open. Having been lazy and not prepped a lunch to bring, I thought I’d try it out.
I’m taking bets as to how soon it fails.
The place has lousy foot traffic. After three weeks of looking, I finally found it: in the corner, behind the elevator banks, behind the escalator, with no signs pointing towards it. It is not visible from the Skyway or the general concourse.
I tend to take lunch fairly late in the noon hour, but it is still during the generally accepted “lunch time.” This shop’s menu is focused and very limited. This is ok. I mean, there are burrito places and burger places and sushi places and…
However, they had run out of what I wanted to order. The menu is so limited there was nothing else I wanted to try. I walked out, and I won’t be going back, nor will I recommend it to anyone. I mean, I love little out of the way hole-in-the-wall places, but if you don’t have something I want the first time I go in…
Hopefully the new tamale place opens soon and has tasty options. I know exactly where it is located, and it has great foot traffic.
