Sep. 7th, 2010 06:11 pmAnother three day weekend of MN Ren Fest has come and gone.
It was a good weekend, but I am exhausted. I barely made it home safely on Saturday (stayed later than I should have for some socializing), and I slept 10 hours last night. Today I am stiff and sore from shoulders to feet. I've managed to clean my costume's skirts (last night, to get the Fest mud off that accumulated during the late day rain), laundry, coffee, and snuggles with the cat.
The winning archery shot on Sunday was epic. One arrow, from 55 yards, a dead center bull's eye.
Monday was one of the more annoying days I've had at Fest, due entirely to one thing: mosquitoes. They were worse than I have ever encountered at Fest before. I have a line of welts defining where the edge of my chemise was, all the way around my neck and chest. I have bites all over my hands, both back and palms, even in the cuticles. There are welts all over my face. Everyone was getting swarmed, and it wasn't fun.
I can see who is influencing pop culture by the requests I get from the little kids. As always, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is my number one request. The past couple of years Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus have been high on my request list (not that I learned or played any of her songs, just that I got the requests). This year it has been all about Lady Gaga, specifically Poker Face. I supposed I should work up a medley of Poker Face, Bad Romance, and Paparazzi. Can't deny they have hook.
I'm hoping to be a bit more productive tomorrow. I planned on no productivity today and allowed myself to just rest. I do have the rest of the week off, and I am planning on getting some house stuff done. Not many things, but some stuff.
